So many of my clients come to me feeling hopeless, overwhelmed, and powerless. Because, to them, they are. When I hear their thoughts and what they are focused on, I agree they are very powerless, until I suggest opening a window, turning off the news, putting on some music, calling a friend, or taking a walk.
There is a sickness of toxic escapism in our culture through focusing on things you can't control, like politics, world news, gossip, your past, and your future. All that energy will leave you feeling helpless. However...
